Question 1a:

DAB is Digital Audio Broadcasting. An advantage of this is that as it is a radio it can pick up more signals than an analogue radio for the signals as they are more compressed meaning there is more space for signals due to the technology being more advanced. 

Question 1b: 

One reason why listening to the radio via apps is more popular than listening it via digital television is that is more portable, meaning that people can listen to it when they are out and stream it at anytime. Another reason for this is that you can listen to different genres of music, because of the amount of apps available. 

Question 2a:

BARB stands for Broadcaster Audience Research Board. This organisation collects data to show the viewing figures on television channels and programmes.

Question 2b:

1. ITV have more female viewers than BBC 2 as there is more females watching soaps than there is males.

2. Older males watch BBC 2 more than female as typically males watch more snooker than females. 

3. ITV has more people watching that are in the lower class meaning BBC has a viewing figure of higher class people as things such as snooker take more concentration to watch than Britains Got Talent. 

Question 3a: 

An independent company often works with other companies as a joint venture is to maximise the success of a product through marketing ability etc. This gives the independent company different platforms and cross media promotion. An example of this would channel 4 and Warner bros, Lego Batman. 

Question 3b:

A disadvantage of an independent company is that it would be harder to market the one product. This is because it is only one company which is advertising the product meaning it will only be shown to a certain audience and the budget of the marketing will be lower, therefore some people won't see the advertising. 

Another disadvantage would be that it would be more time consuming.  This is because only one company is trying to plan, make, distribute one product in a certain period of time and could possible mean that the product may not meet deadlines. Whereas with two companies it is more likely to completed faster as well as more professionally.

Sound editor - this is used in the film Skyfall to add the shooting sound effects and when James Bond and the villain. They make sure the sound track fits the visual or animation which is being shown. Per Hallberg and Karen Landers
